- I like that the No Child Left Behind Act has created higher qualifications for a teacher to be certified. I would also love to see that all schools, including privet schools, could only hire certified teachers so that students could get the best education possible.
- I think that it is very important for a person to student teach because learning how to teach from a professor is very different than going to the field and dealing with actual students.
- Reflection is very important because without it a teacher can not improve. A teacher should reflect and asses how certain things he or she does works with the class and whether the lesson or activity is worth teaching the class.
Not Very Joyous
- I do not like that I will have too take various tests to become a certified teacher. I do not like tests at all, but it does make sense that I will have to know my subject and how to teach to best of my abilities.
- I do not like the idea of a portfolio. I do not like this idea because I have seen student teaching portfolios from previous graduates of UMF and they can be very intimidating. Portfolios seem look like they take days to complete and as previously stated are intimidating.
- Whenever I tell someone about teaching the subject of pay always comes up and how teachers do not get paid very well. However, I knew this when I came into the major and do not want to teach for the pay. Yes, I would love to be wealthy but I am going to be fine living on a teacher's salary.
